Taco Stuffed Burgers

Taco Stuffed Burgers take the typical taco fixings and morph them into a cheesy stuffed burger! The burger has major Southwestern flair that will be the star at your summer BBQ!
I love making these Taco Stuffed Burgers during summer BBQs and other events because they are SO easy and majorly delicious! With a huge pop of taco flavor, plus all the taco toppings everyone loves, my BBQ guests always go crazy over these! Today’s post is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Sargento®.  The opinions and text are all mine.
As I mentioned, making these taco stuffed burgers is easy. I know stuffing a burger can look intimidating, but trust me, you can do it!

How to make Taco Stuffed Burgers:

  • Get all your ingredients together for the easy execution.
  • Blend the burger meat with the seasonings, then form into small patties. Press an indent into the center of the patty.
  • Using Sargento® Blends™ 4 Cheese Southwest Slices, fold each slice in half, then in half again (should be 1/4 size of the whole slice). Press the cheese into the indentation, then add a little more meat over the top, and press around to seal. Form into a burger patty. Repeat for all the patties.
  • Grill the burgers to desired doneness.
  • Add toppings and serve!
Using Sargento Blends 4 Cheese Southwest Slices for the Taco Stuffed Burgers is the perfect combo! The cheese has the perfect amount of seasoning and blends the creaminess of Monterey Jack with Chipotle Cheddar, Colby, and Pepper Jack cheeses for the perfect flavor! Sargento Blends just hit the shelves at Publix and they also have a 5 Cheese Italian Slices version! They are offering a digital coupon for 0.75 off one Sargento Blends Sliced Cheese from July 1, 2018 – July 15, 2018, and an in-store promotion (for the same amount) from July 16, 2018- July 29, 2018. Head to Publix to check it out.

Can I make Taco Stuffed Burgers ahead of time? Can I freeze them?

Yes and yes! Make these patties and then store in the fridge until grilling time! They will keep for 1-2 days in the fridge (keep them covered). To freeze, make the patties, then place into a freezer safe bag (can stack 2 on each other). Remove from freezer, and leave in fridge for at least 2 hours before cooking. Can cook on the grill partially frozen.

Alternative cooking methods:

  • Cook burgers on a grill pan on the stove top. Expect 5-6 minutes for the first side, then 3-4 for the second side after flipping.
  • Cook burgers in the oven for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
