How to have Healthy Hair- 12 Tips to Save Your Hair this Summer
I have been doing hair for a little over 9 years now and I love it! I work at Hairdo salon in Mesa Az located on Val Vista and Baseline. One of the questions I get asked the most is “what can I do to protect my hair during the hot summer.” Arizona is beyond hot and dry, which means that we are in pools all summer long which means trashed hair so here are a few tips to help save your hair.
.Use the least amount of heat as possible. Try to stay away from Flat Ironing, curling and even blow drying everyday.
.Don’t do tight pony tails. If you do to tight of pony tails you will notice breakage right where your pony band hits.
.Use a Shine Serum. LOVE Moroccan Oil. Its pricey but worth every penny! Use about a dime size on your ends when wet before you dry!
.Use Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. I love moroccan oil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. If you need more of an intense conditioner I would use the moroccan oil repair conditioner.
.Use a good Clarifying Shampoo weekly. Paul Mitchell makes a shampoo I really like. It’s called Shampoo Three and it Removes chlorine and impurities from the hair. Its perfect after a day at the pool.
.Use Leave-in Conditioner Daily. I love Moisture Kick Spray by Schwarzkopf. Also do a good Deep Conditioner a few times a month. I love S-Factors by Bed Head “Serious Conditioner”
.Cover Up when possible. Wear hats when you can
.Wear your hair in a cute top knot or braid. It will keep down the amount of frizz you have.
.Drink tons of water. Drink plenty of fluids to keep roots and strands flush with fluids.
.Take Biotin or a Prenatal Vitamin. This will keep your hair strong and help it grow faster.
.Get a good Trim. I would get a good trim at the beginning of the summer and then another one at the end of the summer.
